Publicly Confirms Kickboxing Fight in
2010
For the past few months there's been
rumored the 2010 kickboxing fight
between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Thai
Olympic boxer Somluck Kamsing, but have
not heard anything official from Van
Damme's side. Now, for the first time,
Van Damme himself has spoken publicly
and confirmed it - Jean-Claude Van Damme
will face Somluck Kamsing in a
legitimate kickboxing fight in 2010!
Van Damme spoke to the press about his
plans for the year, indicating that he
will have three reality shows this year
- one related to casting, one behind the
scenes on a Van Damme film project
called The Tower, and one that follows
Van Damme as he trains for his fight
with Somluck.
The third show will follow both Van
Damme in his training and Somluck as he
trains in Thailand, culminating in the
actual fight between the two men, to
take place in either September or
October in Macau, China (a change from
the original plan to hold the fight in
Las Vegas). Ever the self-promoter, Van
Damme's The Tower will also be released
at that time, so that in a one month
span, Van Damme's different shows will
wrap up, his new film will be released,
and the Somluck fight will air.
Van Damme's comments on the fight:
[Fighting Kamsing] is kind of dangerous,
but life is short and I want to do this
fight... to prove to young people, and
even to mature people, that a man can go
into some very strong physical effort,
training, and everything and also be a
movie star.

Planning a Real Kickboxing Match
It
is being reported that Jean-Claude Van
Damme is working on a new project, a
documentary about his training for a K-1
kickboxing match in Last Vegas. This new
movie will lead up to Van Damme actually
getting into the ring for a real fight.
He will face off against Somluck Kamsing,
a 35 year-old Thai fighter, who was the
1996 Olympic Gold medalist in boxing at
126 pounds and also fought in both the
2000 and 2004 Olympics. Kamsing even
appeared in the Asian version of the "Fearless"
film, in which he has a fight scene with
Jet Li.
Van Damme is currently trying to
organize the fight for next Summer, but
some are worried that the Nevada State
Athletic Commission will never allow for
the 48 year-old actor to face-off
against a former Olympian. Stay tuned.
Recently a new Van Damme film is
announced: Karate. We now have the first
promo poster and plot!
A
legendary karate world champion (Van
Damme), known as "The Piston" because of
the speed of his legs, is famous and
wealthy and has the martial arts world
as his feet. But his ego takes control
and his world begins to crumble around
him. He loses his family and his life
goes into a downward spiral. Before
long, this one time champion is living
like a bum on the streets of Los
Angeles.
Then, the Piston meets KK, an internet
fight promoter. KK has a dream... to
find a fighter good enough to win the
prestigious freestyle mega fighting
championship in Las Vegas. The Piston
returns to his karate roots in Japan to
find the fighting edge he needs to
become a champion again. He comes back
to Las Vegas for his make it or break it
fight, for the fight of his life in the
cage against the undefeated young
champion from New York "The Bulldozer."
This classic, gritty,
riches-to-rags-to-riches story has a
heartfelt, nail-biting,
edge-of-your-seat finale. It is one of
the greatest fight movies of all time,
appealing to a wide-ranging,
new-generation audience and especially
to the millions of karate and martial
arts fans around the world who are
hungry for a new martial arts epic in
the tradition of "Bloodsport".
This week starts the filmfestival of
Cannes (13 to 24 of may). So big chance
for more news on Van Dammes latest
project The Eagle Path, Universal
Soldier 3 and Karate!

Jean Claude van Damme has said he would
like to make sequels to Bloodsport and
Double Impact. Van Damme told The
Guardian he would consider revisiting
his former career - but on one condition.
"I am planning on making sequels to
Bloodsport and Double Impact but the
action films I will make in the future
will be more believable and
character-based. I am now on my second
cycle of fame, and I want to make films
that smell real and are truthful," he
said.
But he said he is no longer the 'Muscles
From Brussels' fans might expect: "When
you see me in JCVD, the way I am in that
film, it is very difficult for me to go
back to doing three flips in the air and
landing on the table saying, 'I'm Jean
Claude van Damme'."

14.01.2009 The Eagle Path Plot
You did see the first pics from JCVD's
new movie 'The Eagle Path' and now it's
time to read the plot:
"JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME fresh off of the
critical acclaim he received for "J.C.V.D",
now is directing, writing, producing and
starring in "THE EAGLE PATH" AKA "FULL
LOVE".
In the film he portrays "Frenchy", an
emotionally lost Ex-GI turned taxi
driver somewhere in South-East Asia
where he crosses paths with "Sofia",
played by Spanish actress (CLAUDIA
BASSOLS), a woman whose mysterious life
mesmerizes him drawing him into a world
where he must protect her
from an unhealthy relationship with high
class and vicious business owner "Soli",
(ADAM KARST), and maybe even herself.
With the help of his Best friend, "Bobby
Jackson" (JOSEF CANNON) the alcoholic,
paraplegic former Military specialist.
They set out on a path together, "THE
EAGLE PATH"
that could free them all from the self
imposed prison they each find themselves
in."
